After days of being busy with setting the post straight, recovering pies made with bad berries and, of course, the most interesting of the duties she had performed, becoming an honorary sheriff by doing errands for the bounders; Staranise finally found some time to sit at the fountain in Michael Delving and relax with a pint for a few moments. She was thoughtful, as her chin rested on her raised knees; she watched the water in the fountain as it softly rippled away from where her fingers lightly touched the water. After a few long moments, she gave a soft sigh before raising her pint to finish off the last swig and giving it a quick shake to get rid of the last few drops in her mug and hooking it back onto the leather strap off her belt.
Relaxing was nice… but what she really wanted was the bustle of doing again. It was… fun… working for the bounders and she wanted more of the like. Already she had learned a lot, but there was so much more to learn… to see. Swinging her legs down from the fountain, Star, as her friends and family called her, bounced up from her seat and headed for the stable.
Star couldn’t help but smile softly as her grey pony nickered lightly as she entered the stable. “Hallo, Pogo.” She said softly as she entered his stall and lightly gave his neck a rub a pat. “Ready fer some exercise?” Putting the bridle on was not going well, at least until Star gave an exasperated sigh and dug the carrot stick out of her pocket that Pogo had been trying to get at. The saddle was another matter altogether. The saddle was already comfortably upon Pogos' back. The problem was the cinch. Shaking her head and knowing it was her own fault for not exercising him enough, star cut another notch in the cinch. “Yer startin’ ta look a bit like an ale barrel, Pogo. Yeh get any wider and I’ll need a horse sized cinch to fit yer saddle to yeh.” Star giggled at the reproachful look the grey pony turned upon her as she tightened the cinch.
Leading Pogo out of the stable, star paused long enough to take a good look around before clambering atop her pony. It would seem she hadn’t been quite as busy as it had seemed and that Pogo really wasn’t the only one out of shape. She was pretty sure her backside was going to be a bit unhappy by the time they hit Bree…
