Hi all! I'm 23 and live in Miami as a Research Associate for the UM medical school...usually working from home, which is a great gig.
I first read the books when I was in 6th grade, before I even knew the movies were being made...and it was love at first sight.
Being a sort of WoW widow (and correctly predicting my possible addiction), I resisted MMOs for a long time. Also, it's somewhat difficult to be dedicated to an MMORPG while going to college, working full-time and trying to explain it to your sorority.
I started LOTRO around New Year's on Windfola, where I have a lvl34 elf hunter named Finvirduil. I never intended to make an alt or RP, but I've transitioned into both. RP'ing still makes me immensely skittish, but I'm trying. Apologies in advance for anything blatantly non-canon.
I love that there are other band nerds on here! I was flute section leader in a hardcore one in HS that was #16 in the US, but frankly...UM's one is abysmal, so that was the end of that.
I'm thinking about creating a female minstrel of some sort, so keep an eye out for that, I suppose...nice to meet y'all!

Hello, I just joined up last night, and this seems like a good place to introduce myself. I'm 32 years old, and I work as a computer programmer in Atlanta, GA. I have a happy family, including a five year old son. I haven't yet introduced him to the Lord of the Rings, but we'll get there for sure--I'm already drooling over the upcoming LotR lego sets! Besides gaming, I also enjoy reading, recreational mathematics, and generally tinkering with things. I'm pretty new to LOTRO, though I've spent some time in EverQuest 1 and 2. I'll be asking a lot of questions for a while, but I hope to be up to speed in short order. At the moment, I have two characters: Gjallarhorn the dwarven guardian, and Legrintail the elven hunter. I have no idea what I'm doing with either of them. I enjoy both RP and straight-up gameplay. Once I learn a bit more about, you know, how to actually play, I look forward to being a useful, contributing member of society. That said, I have plenty of real-life obligations, so my time in-game tends to be pretty spotty. I'll be around when I'm around; otherwise, don't bother looking because I won't be around.

Hi everyone, I'm 42 and I live in South Carolina, about an hour from myrtle beach and the ocean. I'm originally from Michigan, just north of Detroit. I moved down here just over 7 years ago. I started playing lotro shortly after it came out and I have left and come back several times. I've been playing mmo's since Dark Age of Camelot about 10 years ago or so. I've been playing roleplaying games since I was 10, when I got my first set of DnD books for my birthday. Been gaming ever since. Currently I have three toons on Landroval: Jimwulf, Stondred and Galenuil. Galen is not in the Kin yet . my own fault. well look forward to seeing you in game. Jim

Heya all!
Most people just call me A, Including Jim (Jimwulf who is my significant other). I am 45 years old and started gaming also with Dark Age of Camelot. Jim and I have gamed together ever since.
Mostly my hobbies have consisted of avid reading, I like drawing, am a huge fan of horse racing and a horse lover. I have a preference for stock horses although the andalusians have caught my eye for the last few years. On a side note I actually am a beginning quilter also.
Funny that Onnika and Vendla should mention how unappreciative the windfola server is. Jim and I started there also and it was the lack of rp and the overall lack of quality of the majority of the people on that server that drove me off. Landroval and finding Faral and the rest of you is what brought me fully back into the game.

Hello, everyone. I'm 17, live in Louisiana, and I'm a student. A very lazy B student. I play Trombone and I have my second gig tomorrow. I started playing LotRO about a month ago. I have four characters on two servers; Tyranel the Elf Champion and Aldolen the Man Captain on Landroval, and Solaste the Elf Lore Keep and a hobbit on Lauralein. Looking forward to playing with you all!

Hail and well met.
Hmm...here we go. I'm 41 and a physics student at Salisbury University in Maryland. I retired from the Navy in 2009 after 20 years in submarines and due to the lack of available jobs, decided to go after my degree. Today is one of those days where I wish I picked something a bit easier, but hey...it's the challenge that I wanted.
I started gaming with AOL's Bard's Tale and moved to UO then EQ1 when it was released. I played EQ1 for almost 10 years before joining my wife in EQ2. After a bit, I got bored and started looking around, Fallen Earth, WOW, Vanguard, to name a few. I bought LOTRO when it came out, but my wife wanted us to play together so I went back to EQ2. Anyway, now that EQ2 is F2P, I came back to LOTRO where the quests lines are interesting and the community is better. I tend to play healers, although the warden's complexity has me hooked.
As an older player, I do have real world obligations..homework for example....wife time to keep the faction high, etc. I do look forward to playing with everyone, but as some have said, my play time tends to be spotty.
Have a Great One Gerir Warden, Historian Geror Rune Keeper, Tinkerer

Can't believe I just found this thread now!
I'm Mark. 28 years old, living in Australia. I'm a fully qualified school teacher, but currently out of work, so I scrape together a living by teaching private students of all ages how to play musical instruments, and then giving them demands for money.
I'm a musical freak, and love every minute of it. I play clarinet, saxophone and piano primarily but I'll have a go at any instrument there is. Jazz is my passion - I sometimes have difficulty expressing myself with words so I find it much easier to shove an instrument into my mouth and pour my soul out.
I've played games my whole life but stayed away from multiplayer for a very long time. I started on WoW with a friend, where I learned that the online community (even for WoW!) wasn't as bad as I'd been dreading. Ended up running my own guild and I'd still be there today, if not for the fact that Blizzard announced an upcoming, unbelievably racist expansion pack - I quit there and then.
Then I remembered, from several years back, one of my RL friends showing me how the LotRO system had room for music. Hello! I joined up, stuffed around on a few servers before finding Landroval and literally bumping into Faral. Vendla taught me a little about how to write music for the system and showed me where I could find tutorials to learn the rest, and off I went!
In game I have four alts but you'll almost always see me as Sevanstarre - as I say, he's just too much fun to leave alone.
Questions? Ask! Oh, and keep your eyes out - I'm working on getting a current picture of myself to include.

Hi im josh, im 20 years old and i live in West virginia US. im a full time college student and i work McDonalds (exciting i know lol). i go to college for Music Education and a Minor in voice. I play Tuba, Euphonium, and Trombone full time in numerous groups. LOTRO was my first MMO, during spring break my senior year of high school i saw an add on facebook for lotro and i jumped at the fact it was f2p and well there went my spring break haha. ive been playing lotro for over a year. i started on dwarrowdelf where i still have a 42 guard. i switched servers because quite frankly dwarrowdelf is dead, and it didnt feel like a MASS multi-player game. i saw in the forums where landroval was a RP server and i was interested so i tried it and got hooked . it was wierd starting from the begging after putting so much time into my old character. but it was for the best and im enjoying this new camaraderie immensely the day i made gunathon i found sevan and here i am besides LOTRO I play DDO and SWTOR with ppl i go to college with. and i also play pen and paper DnD.

I totally missed this the other day!
I go by Mena, I'm 32 years old. I work from home for an awesome company, and I take art commissions to supplement my income. I live in East Tennessee, nestled in the Great Smokey Mountains.
My introduction the the world of LOTR was with the Hobbit in Middle School. I didn't actually read the trilogy until college where I took a class on Tolkien's Worldbuilding. It was definitely a treat. I have read most of the Silmarillion, though not all (it was used in the class too, currently working back through it.)
I've been playing LOTRO off and on since Beta. I've hopped around servers a lot because my friends moved around a lot. They were last seen on Landroval but have moved on to other games now. I love this game even though I've never made it past level 38, and I decided to just focus on enjoying it without my friends. I'm mostly a solo player but I do enjoy grouping on occasion. I haven't really decided on Myrrel's personality yet, but I figure I can work on that as I go along.
As far as RP and RPG experience. My favorite old school console RPG is Chrono Trigger, I love almost everything Bioware has put out, especially Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate. I'm the recruitment officer in my WoW guild, though we are experiencing a pre expansion lull at the moment. I've been playing WoW since 2005, 5 years as alliance and going on 2 years as Horde now. We're on an RP server as well. I've been roleplaying online since 1997, where I started in chatrooms. I also used to moderate and worldbuild on a Dragon Age RP forum. I recently cancelled my SWTOR sub due to lack of time, interest, and money, though like all games I'll eventually go back to it. I've played AD&D, White Wolf, and other various table top games for the past 14 years.
Other things I do when not gaming is work on a serial novel with my partner. It's not quite off the ground yet, but we're working on worldbuilding at the moment.
I also watch the LOTR movies like once a month, sometimes more if I can get away with it. I love them so much!

What genre is your novel, Myrrel? I have a dear friend who has been writing serial novels for a couple years now. He sends them to me to edit and make suggestions and then he posts them on DA (Deviant Art). His first novel character, Aishe, is based on one of my characters from NWN. *smiles* Here's a link to his stuff for anyone who's interested. tariencole.deviantart.com

Vendla, it has bits from a bunch of genres. Romantic Fantasy, Low magic, with a touch of steampunk and a small dash of horror. It will likely just end up in Romantic Fantasy once we get it rolled out. It's not as busy as that makes it sound though XD
I'll take a look at your friends deviantart.
I have a deviantart as well, but as it has some nsfw images so I won't link it directly.
