Oriwynn Jarnsmidr, Daughter of Einarr the Blacksmith.
Oriwynn's mother died in child birth, leaving Einarr with only a daughter as an heir. Einarr the Blacksmith, or as others called him, Einarr the Black Bear recently died in battle protecting their village from a band of orcs and goblins. Einarr was a huge man, standing at nearly 7ft, and about as wide as an Auroch, full of muscle and sinew from swinging a smiths hammer all day. His daughter Oriwynn stands at 5ft 7 inches herself, bearing her fathers piercing green eyes and her mothers long honey-colored hair. As a Smith's daughter, she is sturdy of build, athletically muscled with calloused fingers from both working at the forge and practicing with the very weapons she's created. As a woman of Rohan she can be harsh and stubborn like the cold winters, or serene and gentle like the spring winds upon the Mark.
Having lost a wife and gained a daughter, he did his best to raise her, but she quickly grew eager to learn her father's trade, and insisted until Einarr relented and began to teach her the trade of the Blacksmith. Taking to weaponcrafting over armorcrafting he knew that fate had given him a fighter in a woman's body, and he did he best to give her the beginnings of what she would need to survive.
With her mother gone, as Oriwynn grew she not only took on the role's needed to take care of her father, but took on the role of daughter and Smith. To truly become a superb weaponcrafter Einarr knew he'd have to let go of tradition and slowly begin to train her in how to handle the weapons she wished to create. She took to the bow immediately, taking to hunting the fields for coney and boar, to feed her and her father. As she grew, her prey grew and the desire to do more. The forge of Oriwynn's spirit burns brightly, and Einarr knew that she would not be happy with a woman's traditional lot in life, so never pushed her to find suitors and marry.
Now, at the age of 25, Oriwynn now completely independent, and the only heir to her fathers lands and earnings a happen stance of an order for a weapon opened up the opportunities she wished for. A known Rider and scout by the name of Theodrum commissioned her to rebuild a massive greatsword. The weapon had been wielded in battle by his Captain, and he wished it repaired to be given back as a gift, as it had been a family heirloom. Touched by the respect for his Captain, and impressed by the weapon itself, she reforged the greatsword for Theodrum. So impressed was he by the woman's ability, that he gave her the option to present the sword back to his Captain that was working in Bree-lands. She had never embarked on such a long journey, and was curious and excited to take this opportunity for what it could be worth to her. So, she rented out her Forge to a young smith in her absence to take care of her holdings and embarked on her journey to meet Theodrum's Captain, Beonferth.
After presenting the sword to Captain Beonferth he was both intrigued and impressed with the younger woman's aptitude. After a passionate exchange of words, Captain Beonferth agreed to continue her training in a more regimented style, in her father's stead.
Above all else, Oriwynn's patriotic desire to protect her land and country, and the people of Rohan sets her apart. Though her gender making her at odds with many men and Riders, her stubborn willfulness, and her passion drive her forward.
After her training, and dealing with her fathers death, she goes and seeks out those that know of her mother's family line, and finds herself in Rivendell, where she meets the Master of History, Adorandil. The elf now goes forth as her traveling companion, revealing to her the mysteries of Middle Earth and of her family lineage....
