Great resource, thank you for posting! In reply to your query about Gostannon, or more accurately the Gostannon, it is literally the archway and the wall, and nothing else. The name is spot-on, and tells us all about this structure. "Gostannon" translates as "gate of terror", from the Sindarin elements gosta, "fear, terror" and annon, "gate, door".

Hey thanks for that bit of lore ... if you want to comment on any of the other places I'd be more than happy if you did. Having the actual lore to go with the pics would be great. Maybe we can work on this together.

This is one of many orc and goblin infested forts in Mirkwood. This one is called Hangoi ... and I lovingly refer to it as the "Hangoi Hilton" (*rimshot*). Attachments:

The dreaded Haunted Inn of Mirkwood. Well, it's not really all that dreaded. In fact, I didn't see any ghosts in there, so if it's haunted at all, it's only by quest givers. Attachments:

There's not much reason to come to Herethir since this is a quest hub for a fellowship instance, but one quest does send you here as part of its completion objectives. You'll see lots 'o quest rings here, but they are *all* fellowship quests. I'd love to get a group together and do them sometime if anyone is up to the challenge. Attachments:

An out-of-the-way place in Mirkwood called Lagurz Lug. Wiki says there are no quests that start here nor are there any quests involved with it, so why is it even here? Who knows. Attachments:

I just threw this in to see if anyone was paying attention. This is my ship from Star Trek Online, the dreadnought class starship USS Kali. And you know what? I wish I had HAD one of these when tackling Dannenglor. In fact, being unable to get help with killing bird-women in Dannenglor caused me to quit the game for almost a year. So yeah, a Federation starship would've been *really* handy. Attachments:

In regards to out of the way places such as Lagurz Lug, I think the devs get bored sometimes and like to place random ruins in the middle of forests just for fun :-)
