1. Go to 'My Documents' and open the folder that says 'The Lord of the Rings Online'.
If you do not see a folder in there that says 'Music', then create one and name it Music.
2. Also, if you do not see a folder in there that says 'Plugins', then create one and name it Plugins. Do not get this confused with the folder that should already be in there called 'PluginData'....totally separate folders, I assure you.
Once you have those two folders created, you are now prepared for downloading song files and plugins that will help you play music.
3. Go to thealliancekinship.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=musicstuff&action=display&thread=173 for links to downloads and tutorials.
4. Place your ABC files into your music folder.
5. I highly suggest you use the Songbook plugin, otherwise you'll have to manually type the song names. After you download Songbook, place the folder into the Plugins folder.
Also, on the Songbook page you should see a link inside some (...) that says Native Windows Application. Clicking on that link will let you download Songbook Filler which will make it easy to rebuild your song library. You will have to rebuild your library every time you add songs. (I put my Songbook Filler right on my desktop for easy access.)
6. I also suggest you make a shortcut to load your Songbook. To make a shortcut, use an empty skill slot and type /shortcut (number of slot) /plugins load songbook. So, for example, if you're using your first skill slot, it would be /shortcut 1 /plugins load songbook.
7. You should now be ready to play.
First, be sure to rebuild your library if new songs have been added.
Then, use your shortcut to load Songbook, or type /plugins load songbook.
Equip your instrument and put yourself in music mode by clicking on the M at the top of the Songbook window, or type /music.
Click on the song you want to play, then click the play arrow next to the M at the top of the Songbook window.
I'm afraid I know nothing about Mac's so I really can't help with Mac issues.
Also, as we discovered with Bookwerm's laptop, some older computers/laptops do not support .net framework, and without this, you can't get Songbook or maybe even Lyrical to work. Maybe someone might come up with a way to solve that problem.
