The in game biographies of three most in depth characters and a briefing of the the last 3 years of RP history.
Olsara Nenglir: Watersong (Character now deleted)
Originally one of the first to awaken, she was a Teleri elf. Unlike her kindred Olsara was of a mind other than that of the majority; who though tarried yet followed Orome toward Valinor and the summons of the Valar. For Olsara loved the dusk and stars of middle earth and often sang songs in her heart of the glory and beauty of all that was wrought before her time by unknown hands and powers. Thus as her kinsman moved ever westward, she straggled behind until at once she was wholly separated from her kinsman. Though dismayed to be alone Olsara harkened to the songs of the river made by Ulmo. For long years Olsara sat by the side of the water so great was her love for the music she heard therein, that eventually her light hair became streaked with dusk and her eyes changed from crystal blue to flashing silver- like that of the stars, as her only nourishment was the clean water of the river, regenerating starlight, and fulfilling song of Ulmo's care for her.
The Eldar have placed on her the name of Nenglir, meaning Watersong.
The Continuation:
Olsara lived for countless ages engrossed in the songs she heard. Some eventually named her blessed of Ulmo, though she would never state such herself. Yet for all her joy in song, she held much guilt, for throughout her long years she was unable to pull herself away. A skilled elf, she could have turned the tide in so many battles and so many wars and yet there she remained, entranced. She even neglected her own family who eventually left her and the water. After unknown ages, the Watersong pulled her in many directions, wandering the paths of rivers, streams and oceans. Each dawn she would lament the nights end in song and each night sing of the beauty of the dew upon the fields, but through it all, she was eventually brought to the lands of Bree.
It was with no small amount of distrust she was brought into a kin known as the Velvet Society. There she met the first man she had ever respected. Beorthelm Grimblade of Rohan. They grew close but when Beorthelm left, Olsara had duties of Ulmo to fulfill and friends were separated as it would turn out, forever. With the blessing of the reflecting pool the kinship no longer needed her and Olsara found herself fading to the point of nothingness; no longer sustained by the power of Ulmo. Thus, she cried many tears and bottled them, a remembrance for her friend of her, her grief, and her love, and she left them with Uliathril to give to Beorthelm for she had no idea if her family even lived. Olsara then sailed West, finally, on a trip that she was long ago destined for.
Uliathril: (Character in Alliance)
Born in the year 378 of the First age in Doriath, she is a Sindarin elf of slight stature with crystal blue eyes and hair like the twilight sky.
Her early years were spent learning the art of gem cutting from the greatest craftsmen. The most prized and beloved piece, a small gem placed in a circlet of silver and beech wood bark from a sapling of the hedge of Melian that still rests upon her brow.
When Doriath fell in 505 of the first age she accompanied Elwing to the mouths of Sirion. There she met the Nenglir and stayed with her for near 70 years until Morgoth was cast out and Beleriand destroyed.
Joining the host that accompanied Olopher to the Green wood, there she remained until memories of the destruction of Menegroth became reality as the shadow spread.
Now, as she leaves the Wood, she has been given the name Uliathril; literally Scent of Doriath as emanating from her brow and the circlet that rests there is perhaps the last remembrance of the land of antiquity.
The Continuation:
Uliathril has never been the most social of elves. Having lived so long she has been betrayed by mortals and elves alike and as such she makes few friends among any race. Paradoxically Uliathril is an exceedingly lonely elf since she left the river side and her one true friend Olsara. She has wandered for ages without anything but the cold love of the gems she shaped and molded to beautiful heartless things. In many ways, like a mirror her. Until trade brought her to a city of men.
Ironically, it was there she was reunited with her friend Olsara. Olsara had become intrenched with a group of men and elves who studied ancient histories and were seeking the blessing of the Valar upon their reflecting pool. Together Uliathril and Olsara ventured deep into the mines of Moria to seek out mithril for the engraving work that would be done and etched into the stone of the pool. There they faced great hardships but eventually gathered enough mithril flakes to serve their purposes. Upon their return that the pool was consecrated and adorn with the rarest of dressings and soon after Uliathril watched as her friend began to fade. It was with deepest sorrow that Uliathril walked her friend to the gray havens but bittersweet for she knew she would see her again in full glory.
Uliathril took then from her friend a small crystal vial. Olsara told her to give it to Beorthelm Grimblade and said not what it was, but the strange clear liquid seemed to speak to Uliathril regardless. She knew it was her tears and the songs they sang were regret and guilt but also endless ages worth of love, love for her friends, love for her family, and love for song. Uliathril was taken aback but agreed and then watched as her friend sailed away into a new life.
Turning back from those shores, Uliathril then sought out Beorthelm. It was with no small amount of discomfort their meeting took place. Nor did the man feel no small amount of guilt himself. He took Olsara's tears and mourned her deeply, for he had not the comfort that he would ever see her again.
In time, Uliathril also banded with this Velvet society and befriended Beorthelm even as Olsara had, but in the end she had to leave for a time and Beorthelm had responsibilities. Uliathril too left Beorthelm and the Society and continued down her own path, seeking her own ways. Years past and Uliathril found herself once again in the lands of men, and this time she banded with a new group in order to do something worth while, though, she was yet unsure what that might be.
Sellodlin Onnaonen:
Sellodlin Onnaonen; daughter of song, Born of water- is an elf of unmistakable beauty. Her skin is as pale as moonlight and her hair like a ravens wing. Her silvery gray eyes resemble her mother's as does her countenance for few even among the edhil could lay claim to such elegance and grace of the first of those to arise.
Daughter of an ancient Avari elf, her heart has long since been wed to the fate of Middle earth. Having listened to the songs of her mother, Sellodlin knew that she must take up arms to protect all that she was and all that her mother held dearest.
When her father and she finally pulled themselves away from Olsara it was with bitter grief, for Olsara could not even for her own family tear herself away from the call of the Watersong. Though Sellodlin craved the company of mother the rest of her life, she grew in time to understand duty.
The Continuation:
Sellodin was drawn after Olsara, but it always seemed she was late and just missing her mother. Everywhere she went were signs of Nenglir but like a fading shadow or distant memory, Sellodlin could not quite place her arms around her. Like water, Olsara would slip through her daughter's fingers.
Finally making her way to Bree, Sellodlin met with Beorthelm though not happily. She was told of her mother's passing on to the West and she was crushed. She attacked the man and could not accept in her heart her mother had left the shores of Middle Earth. Sellodlin has been seeking Uliathril for many months now and was led recently into the Misty Mountains. Unprepared for a storm there, she found herself at the mercy of the elements, and on the Misty Mountain, there is none.
Yet rumors and fate had led her high enough she was discovered by a man more wrapped up in the legacy of Olsara and those she touched than he could ever have imagined when they first met. Beorthelm, hermit and heart as cold with grief as the mountain itself, he saw the elf falter. It was his choice, end it, or aid. Growling, he picked up the elf-maid and carried her to his camp...
